Broadcast Cable Series
From the Ground Up

Produced and Directed by
Tamara Lynn Scott
is beginning another round of architectural design concepts
for a 1450 square foot energy self-reliant,
environmentally friendly,
2 bedroom, 2 bath prototype home,
located on the 40 acre, mountain top site
in the Santa Cruz Mountains where the series is being filmed.

Satellite image shows the mountain top with the south face of the mountain terraced.

The following images were gathered from the first designs for overview of the mountain top site topos for some of the first architectural conceptings.

Additional images showing the views to the south,
looking over the octagonal footings for the 20 foot square based Octagon,
where a radiant Tube, passive solar, heated cement slab is currently underway,
to be topped off with a black marble mosaid sunburst
which is scheduled for completion in January of 2008.

You may view additional images from this project at postings prior.

South View at the entrance drive, where body sculpture forms are waiting to receive the excess cement being scheduled for pouring the Octagonal Solar Heated Cement Pad located on the other side of the current driveway entrance.

Standing in the driveway entrance, pointing south to show the drive, the octagon slab, and a small area on the southeast.

The Western Views of the site include the area where previous cement pads have been moved, for re-use and incorporation into the landscaping, rather than demolition and removal. This photo is taken from a position near the Octagonal Cement Slab, looking at the western point of the mountain top.

The West is the direction of activity for the evening of the day, predominated by spectacular sunsets, gathered round the evening fire.

Standing where the back of the previous home once stood, an energy efficient, HUD awarded energy efficient home, and looking out to the north, where the land sharply falls, surrounded in cooling stands of tall redwood and douglas fir, which help to block the winter, northern winds. Currently staged with a trampoline which is serving to collect waters, and additional body sculptural forms, waiting for overflow cements. Recycled, and reclaimed cement pavers, bricks, and other materials, such as marble, are being gathered to the mountain top, for consideration and inclusion on projects.

These images, taken from the flat topped crown of the mountain top,
show the open lighted airiness of the perch, and the most important element of the site, the out of doors, and the spectacular views in all directions. The majority of living space will be indoor/outdoor semi-enclosed living areas. On the mountain top, one rushes to be out of doors.

This Photo, taken from the circular drive, center of the mountain top, viewing the north, prior to the trampoline being set up, and the North East corner of the mountain top, currently covered with the recycled cement pavers, and moveable cement pavers manufactured by Stepstone.

A camping tent has been set up to provide temporary shelter and office space.

Additional images will be taken and posted of land views coming up the current access road, and other areas of the lands not included above, to allow a more total concepting of the land usage and development. These images begin the first steps of envisioning a total concept for the land and its usages.
